Zombies Ahead Warning on Construction Sign
Here I am on my first trip ever to Austin Texas to participate in a company sponsored business conference. Though I had came in on a late flight Sunday night, I woke up early morning to get a head start on finding my location. I could have sworn I was still dreaming when I read the contents of the flashing digital public safety road signs ahead of me - “ZOMBIES IN AREA! RUN” and “NAZI ZOMBIES! RUN!!!.” No conference was that important to get bitten by zombies I thought to myself, in my half awake frame of mind. If I was dreaming then I guess I could run for it. I had to in fact pinch myself several times in order not to “run” or in that case turn the car around and catch the next flight out of Austin.
I kept a level head and fought back the panic, then later discover that it was the work of hackers who broke into the computer system and changed the original content of the public safety construction warning messages to ones about zombies.
The video below is the official news report of the incident.
What would you do if you were in my position? would you have panicked, been outraged or would you laugh it off as a funny prank?

You dont have to tell me twice, i would run :)
Hah. Not bad, but I don't condone it. I have a refined geek's appreciation for a clever prank, or "hack" as they call it. As a driver, however, I'd be concerned that I was missing an important message. Realistically, those lit signs rarely have anything terribly important - but I'd say changing one is at least comparable to removing a stop sign, or other such sign.
Removing a stop sign... Yikes!! now that wouldnt have been funny. But to some extent this one kinda is.
Its funny reading about it now but i can see where it wouldnt have been funny if there were sever warnings that motorists needed to get at the time.
kids these days...
Being that i was new to the area I would have been scared out of my pants, dreaming or awake!
