107 Year Old Virgin is Ready for Marriage

A 107 year old Chinese woman, Wang Guiying, has decided that she is finally ready for a husband.  After waiting more than a century she has decided that she has waited long enough and is ready for a man in her life. She has also accepted and welcomed the fact that she will end up marring someone much younger than she is, possibly a youngster in his early 90s to early 100s.

When asked why she waited this long, she told the Chonggin Commercial Times, "getting married was too frightening."

Wang Guiying, the daughter of a salt merchant, was born and grew up in the Guizhou province of China. While growing up, she recalled witnessing her aunt and other wives getting beaten by their husbands. She recalled, "I often found my aunt crying in the woodshed after an attack. All the married people around there lived like that. Getting married was too frightening." This all occurred during a time when Chinese women had low social standings or rights in society.

To avoid experiencing what she saw other women experiencing she made the decision to never get married. She instead settled down with her farm tools, tilling the soil as a farmer. At age 74, due to the strenuous nature of her occupation, she retired from farming and moved in with her nephew in Chonggin.

"My nephews and nieces are getting older and their children are already tied up with their own families, I'm becoming more and more of a burden," she said. She later declared, "I'm 107 and I'm still not married. What will happen if I don't hurry up and find a husband?"

Well, the good news is that her nieces and nephews along with other local officials are coming to her rescue in assisting her in finding a husband. The search is presently on throughout local homes in Chonggin with the hopes of finding the lucky groom.
